New and extended assets
FRANCE LOIRE
Medicom Group inaugurated France's first nitrile glove production plant, ManiKHeir, in Bessé-sur-Braye in Q2 2024. Located in the Pays de la Loire region, the €88 million (£74 million) investment revitalised the former Arjowiggins factory site, transforming it into a 17,000 sq m (183,000 sq ft) facility capable of producing over 900 million gloves annually. This development is part of Medicom’s strategy to strengthen France's healthcare system and industry resilience against global crises. The factory includes 1,535 sq m (16,500 sq ft) of offices, 5,880 sq m (63,300 sq ft) of production space, and an integrated R&D laboratory that enables high-performance product innovation.
GERMANY MUNICH
In Q3 2024, Aventin Real Estate completed and handed over the Life Science Center Gräfelfing. The new research and development building offers 9,200 sq m (99,000 sq ft) of modern laboratory and office space for companies in the biotechnology sector on a plot of approximately 4,200 sq m (45,200 sq ft). The floor plan is adoptable allowing the office and laboratory spaces to be easily customised to the individual needs of future tenants. Crelux and HP Health Solutions Germany GmbH will move from the Biotechnology Innovation Center in Martinsried to the centre. In addition, WuXi AppTec will open its first European location there.
GERMANY RAVENSBURG
Later this year, the first cleanrooms will be installed in Vetter’s new production facility. This facility is currently under construction at the company’s global corporate headquarters site in Ravensburg. The €230 million (£193 million) construction project started in November 2021 and a significant milestone in the construction process (completion of the shell) was reached two years later. The building is 122 m (400 ft) long, 44 m (144 ft) wide and 32 m (105 ft) tall and will feature several new commercial filling lines to effectively increase aseptic manufacturing capacity for Vetter’s global customer base.
