IRELAND LIMERICK  

In September 2024 Eli Lilly and Company announced a $1 billion (€900 million/ £750 million) expansion of its manufacturing site to increase production of biologic active ingredients, including those for recently approved treatment for early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease. This brings Lilly's total investment in Limerick to $2 billion (€1.8 billin/£1.5 billion) doubling the investment the company announced in March 2023 when ground was broken on its greenfield site in Raheen, Co. Limerick. The company has a second manufacturing site in Ireland, at Kinsale in Co. Cork.

NETHERLANDS OSS

In September 2024, the new Marie Curie building was opened at Pivot Park in Oss. The Marie Curie is a new multi-tenant building which extends to ​​11,000 sq m (118,400 sq ft) spread over nine floors. The building will provide office and laboratory space for scale-ups and growing companies in the pharmaceutical sector. About 350 people from six different companies will work in the new building from next year. The architects are Dutch firm Proof of the sum, who also worked on Plus Ultra III at Wageningen.

SWITZERLAND BASEL

In August 2024, the new building of the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) on the Novartis campus was opened. Novartis converted a former production building for the FMI at the cost of around 100 million Swiss francs (€106 million/£88 million). The FMI had been located at its old Rosental Mitte site for over 50 years.
