AUSTRIA VIENNA

In September 2024, Boehringer Ingelheim expanded its cancer research footprint in Vienna by opening the new Angelika Amon Research Building. The building offers research space for 150 people across 11 floors. It is named after the Viennese cancer researcher Angelika Amon (1967–2020) who was closely connected to Boehringer Ingelheim. The project represents an investment of approximately €60 million (£51 million).

GERMANY BIELEFELD

According to an October 2024 announcement, GSE Germany, acting as the general contractor, has started construction on the Medicampus located at Parkstraße 23-25 in the centre of Bad Salzuflen. The new building, covering 4,500 sq m (48,000 sq ft), is being built on the refurbished site of the former Kurpark Clinic, which was demolished about 15 years ago. Completion is planned for the end of 2025. Behind the project is a consortium of investors, including the real estate group Sander, the Vortherms and Kirana physician families, and Kay Grotebrune, managing partner of K+G-Projekt. The investment value is approximately €20 million (£17 million).

LITHUANIA VILNIUS

In October 2024, construction of HUBIO reached roof level. HUBIO is a modern technology development centre located at the Vilnius City Innovation Industrial Park designed for growing life sciences businesses. It offers more than 4,000 sq m (43,000 sq ft) of rental area for life science companies that need spacious and functional premises. Units ranging from 292 to 2,457 sq m (3,100 to 26,000 sq ft) are available.
